I chose this genre because in my project I don't talk much about Susannah (Jeremiah and Conrad's mother). Adam (Jeremiah and Conrad's father) is barely in the book, but when he is it is a very important event. Susannah had cancer in 2018. When she was going through chemo therapy Adam cheated on her with his secratary. She stayed with him, but when she figured out the cancer came bad she told him to leave. They didn't get a divorce because she didn't want to get a treatment again and if she didn't get the treatment and died Susannah just wanted Adam to take care of the kids. The first chemo therapy made her feel horrible and she doesn't want to feel like that again if she only has a 3% chance of survival. Cancer is a major disease that kills 1,000+ people a day. There are no cures for any cancer, but some have a higher survival rate than others.
Susannah - Why are you here Adam? I told you not to come to the 4th this year.
Adam - Laural told me that you were okay with me being here. She actually said you wanted me here
Susannah - Of course she did. Why can't she just butt out of my buissness. I just wanted an amazing last summer and now you're going to ruin it.
Adam - How am I ruining your summer? I have only been here for 5 minute!
Susannah - You know what you did Adam! YOU CHEATED ON ME! It's also my last summer because of the cancer and I don't want you to be here and ruin it. I just want you to leave.
Adam - Fine I'll leave.
Jeremiah - Oh my gosh! Dad I thought you couldn't make it.
Adam - I'm sorry son, but I have to leave again.
Susannah - Just stay. At least for a little bit. (whispers) For Jeremiah and Conrad.
