Han, Jenny. The Complete Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy. Simon & Schuster BFYR, 2010. I chose this genre because you don't really get to see Belly and her dad's relationship. Belly's dad (John) and Laural (Belly's mom) got divorced in 2020. They got divorced because Laural didn't feel the spark between them. She felt as if they were two friend or even two strangers living in the same house. They also argued all the time and they felt as is it were right to separate. At first Belly and Steven didn't understand why they had to get a divorce. Both of them just wanted John and Laural to figure out their problems because they didn't want to know what it feels like to have a separated family. In the book Belly doesn't show or express how she feels when she is with her dad. She also feels as if her dad (John) has moved on too fast because he got a new girlfriend. The new girlfriend and belly get to know each other more and Belly realizes that she isn't too bad and that her dad and the girlfriend should stay together.
